FGB proves qualities as a key player
On 3 – June 2014, FGB attended the AUTOMATICA in Munich for the first time as Fanuc partner. At the international trade fair for automation and mechatronics, the company based in Salz showed its qualities as an innovative system integrator as partner of the leading manufacturer in robotics in the field of robot-based non-destructive testing.
For numerous years, FGB has been utilizing Fanuc products for the development and design of innovative test systems. This particularly applies to realization of automatic test technologies using self-developed and manufactured robots with the required positioning accuracy. This is reason enough for Fanuc to invite the successful manufacturer of machinery based in Salz to join their recognized team at the trade fair.
The trade fair was also characterized by the football world championship. In their specially designed “yellow arena”, a 2600 m. trade fair stand shaped like a football stadium, FANUC gathered, along with FGB, other leading industrial partners presenting their innovations in the field of automation. Together, these manufacturers presented more than 40 applications and provided visitors with comprehensive information on the latest developments in the field of robotics.
FGB used AUTOMATICA to present two new machine concepts for fully automatic quality assurance by means of complex components using robot-controlled probes to the visiting expert audience. The eddy current test
procedure developed in-house enables the identification of material defects like cracks at the surface of components. This way, even defects that are invisible to the naked eye can be found.
