FGB expands PV system

In July 2024, FGB expanded the existing PV system by further 300 kWp on the roofs of the production and assembly halls. The system has doubled the previously installed capacity. This means that a total of just over 600 kWp is now available to cover one’s own electricity needs in the long term in an ecologically compatible way.

Especially in the sunny months, the company will thus be self-sufficient and make the surplus electricity available to the other companies of the steinbachgroup or feed it into the grid. Self-consumption not only leads to a reduction in energy costs, but also to a reduction in the CO2 footprint. The company assumes that the investment now made will pay for itself accordingly fast.

In addition, the company obtains only green electricity from its energy supplier from an external source if necessary. This way, the company is already climate-neutral in this respect and making an important contribution to the energy transition.
