Mechanical construction
In addition to the electrical design and calculation, mechanical construction is also an important step in developing high-performance direct drives. In a first step, the mechanical requirements with respect to the motor/generator are clarified. We also check the impact of the motor design from the previous FEM calculation (e.g. heat development, cogging etc.).
Also, different mechanical steps for optimising the machine / compensation of disturbance variables are examined. The mechanical improvement also includes the application-specific dimensioning and selection of suitable materials, components and (including controllers, if required) and parts.
If the basic mechanical design has been completed, single part and assembly drawings are prepared for production and procurement, parts and material lists are drawn up and volume models are designed. The creation of work and test plans is also part of the mechanical design process.
