Test System for Crank Shafts
Task
Crankshafts of various sizes and types are examined for checks on a testing system in a magnetic powder test. Automatic handling is necessary due to the part weight.
Process
The crankshafts are placed onto the lifting beam conveyors and then indexed in pairs by the magnetisation station. After the dripping section, the parts are sent to the manual visual inspection stations by means of cross transport. The parts are placed onto roller prisms to facilitate turning and positioning, and are then moved to the testing positions. The visual inspection is secured by means of protection doors. After the test, the cross-transport sorts and hands over the parts to the customer’s conforming or nonconforming containers.
Machine cycle time:
approx. 15 sec., however this depends on the customer’s magnetisation station and the manual work stations.
