Transfer Unit for Vitreous Body
Task and Process
The manual device shown here is used to move cylindrical glass elements from a production pallet to a shipping package. The process is as follows:
The operator positions the full and empty pallets on top of one another and hands them over to the device. The handover mandrels pick up the glass elements in the upper pallet. When the lever is pressed, the mandrels move horizontally upwards and lift out the glass elements. The now empty upper pallet is removed by hand. When the lever is pressed again, the mandrels lower again and load the lower pallet. The operator pulls this forward and the transfer process is complete.
To adapt the device to various glass element sizes, the handover rake with the holding mandrels is designed as a replacement part to allow parts to be transferred in a certain variance.
