Components for a 4 Axle Test Bench
The function of existing test benches can be expanded with corresponding components. This leads to an improved reality-like simulation of the stress on parts and ultimately improves the efficiency of the tests.
For instance, in this example a 3-axle test bench was expanded into a 4-axle test bench for ball joints. The previous stress types in the torsional, cardanic and radial direction of the joints should be maintained and supplemented with an axial component.
In addition to the second hydraulic cylinder for force transmission, it was necessary to build two new bearing plates and the mass-optimised test piece holder to absorb the additional movement of the joint.
Radial force:
±250 kN, 20 Hz bei ±0,5mm
Axial force:
±150 kN, 20 Hz bei ±0,5mm
Twisting angle torsional:
±25°, 10 Hz bei ±10°
Twisting angle cardanic:
±15°, 10 Hz bei ±10°
