Mechanical Components for Steering Test Bench
The following shows an example of mechanical components used for modifying a steering test bench. The purpose was to test the steering in a test under realistic conditions. Both the steering movement and also the mechanical stress of the steering points on the steering linkage are simulated by the hydraulic cylinder. In this way the test piece can be loaded with a driving profile that includes situations that are critical for the steering linkage, such as emergency braking. The respective test process is variable so that, for instance, the test duration and load intensity can only be defined by the customer requirements.
The parts shown were completely designed and manufactured at FGB. The company has a corresponding machine pool for precise processing of the large and heavy workpieces.
